In the last months we were joined by news about a couple of movies that have destabilized, so to speak, the cinema.
The first of the two is coming out in December of 2020, the director is Anders Weberg, the title is ambiance and it will last 720 hours, almost a month, there are two main characters, a beach and need a quintal of popcorn for the viewers.
Obviously there is a strong need to know, to understand what we can expect from a film of this scale, which is why it has already been released the first trailer, the one that we propose, lasts a tenth of the film, well 7.2 hours.
You can watch it here:
This is not the only cinematographic oddity, which has been proposed in recent weeks, surely the genders are different, the color and the concepts are far apart.
The second film was written by the unpredictable John Malkovich, called 100 years, was shot by Robert Rodriguez, Sin City director. From the name you immediately understand the particularity of the film, the release date is in fact, in theory, in 2115, on November 18, exactly one hundred years in there. It obviously hopes that will win the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2116, hoping that the the cinema still exists, considering how things are evolving.
By John Malkovich, and Rodriguez, you can expect the outputs of this kind. The film will be presented in a press release at the Cannes Film Festival this year, the film will then be put in a safe place for the next 99 years and a half.
The film was written and directed to promote the “new” production, now on sale, from Martell house, the Louis XIII Cognac, bottled in 1915, so exactly 100 years ago, in the same way in 100 years will go on sale the production which is bottled this year.
Ludovic du Plessis, Global Executive Director of Louis XIII, issued a statement:
Louis XIII is a true testament to the mastery of time and we tried to create a proactive piece of art that explore the dynamic relationship past, present and future.
About the John Malkovich project said:
There were several options when the project was presented of what the future would be. One with an incredibly advanced technology and a computerized version of the world, a post-Chernobyl, a return to nature with semi-destroyed civilization and then there was a retro future, in the way in which the future was imagined by science fiction of 40s and ’50s.
Robert Rodriguez interviewed by Indiewire the film says:
is the first time I do something like that, I was intrigued by the concept of work on a film that would have been locked up for a hundred years. They even gave me the Silver tickets for my descendants who will participate in the first in Cognac in 2115. Is not it great? John and I wanted to, that this was a work of timeless art that could also be enjoyed in 100 years. I am very proud of this, if only my grandchildren and hopefully my clone will look.
This project is an example of how you can turn a simple advert, first in an artistic concept and then in a movie. They were released three commercial that speak of those three different future, in the trailers are not present, probably, scenes of the film.
Great, they have created a brand, on a brand that speaks of a brand.
