“Have yourself a merry little christmas” sang Judy Garland in “Meet Me in St Luis” hoping to leave problems away. And that is how we should deal with the Christmas, with a light heart, light and happy as a bird. Perhaps for this reason that Marni, the famous fashion house, launched its project “Happy Birds” dedicated primarily to supporting children.
“At Christmas, Marni confirms the commitment to charitable causes in support of children with MARNI project HAPPY BIRDS: a limited edition of wooden birds and metal hand-painted by a group of Colombian artisans”, they explain on the website of the fashion house, specifying that: “The proceeds from the sales of Happy Birds will be donated to the Association Vimala www.associazionevimala.org, that supports children living in Indian refugee camps”.
The Happy Birds are now on sale exclusively in the Marni boutique since the end of November
2016 and will be available throughout the Christmas period.
A collection that it will not only do charity, but also to pay tribute to five great women artists of the ‘900, ironically represented in the form of birds: cormorants by big beak represents the beautiful Frida Kahlo, while Carol Rama is depicted with whimsical wreath in a radial pattern. The painter Georgia O’Keefe for the occasion has become a hen, Alice Neel could only be a bird that looks up, while the Queen personifies the French sculptor Louise Bourgeois.
The colors could only be lively, obviously forms are bold and fun and they, the birds happy, can be purchased individually or the block and happily adorn both the interior and exterior of your home.
So what are you waiting for? The edition is limited!
