It has not changed for nothing. The pictures of Masayoshi Sukita resemble him and he Iggy Pop is always faithful to himself: shirtless, moves from photo shoot, blond hair and unmistakable voice. Watching him on stage looks like he still looks at Raw Power cover, 1973 Stooges album. It ‘s so appeared on June 10 in Bari in his only Italian date. The excuse to enjoy his concert for free was the Medimax, the international music conference sponsored by Puglia Sounds, which involved 80,000 people in a Prefecture Square, which was slowly filling in despite the barriers to security measures. The crowd of people started from the stage, mounted between the City Hall and the Prefecture to reach almost Ferrarese Square.

He has pitted a piece for a whole career, immediately removing the thought of performing his masterpiece. We did not have to wait long to hear Some Weird Sin, The Passenger and Lust for Life. Maybe all too soon, but he can afford it all by now. The iguana of the rock has amazed the audience by keeping a two hour concert. A stage animal with 50 years of career behind. Iggy Pop knows his audience and knows how to drag him. He made music and made noise, he told a story made of music and in words he said little.

A show that can not be surprised: Iggy Pop has been on stage since 1967 when he was still playing with the Stooges and scandalized the good thinkers for his performances in which he was able to upset the audience with forms of exhibitionism, wild self-destruction. Despite the 70 years just completed, the grin, the strength and the desire to be always the number one rock, have not abandoned it.

At the end of the concert, exhausted, he fell to the ground faint. Then he got up, bowed with the same grace as a ballet dancer and greeted his audience.
Medimex has been a great event, it has been one year since, but it has returned stronger than before. Close to the three days of workshops, Dj sets, concerts, seminars, interviews, was Solange Knowles, Grammy’s 2017 winner.
