La La Land Towards the oscar:

Were the 30s. There was an audience literally seduced and charmed by a cuoples of show business, that made his debut on stage having no rivals: Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. Their names are now carved in legend. But maybe today, after almost a century, the regret of those times is a bit ‘less persistent.
To fill the void left by Rogers-Astaire couple could be Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, protagonists of La La Land, the last work of the young Damien Chazelle (Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench, Whiplash) which in these days is amazing all the lovers of the big screen, as well as those who go to the cinema to carve out a space in which to escape in a dream.

The hypothesis is not risky nor pretentious, because the film makes people dream and its success is extraordinary. the support of international criticism already won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, after welcoming, La La Land has broken all records on January 8 at the awards ceremony of the Golden Globe Awards 2017, where he scored seven victories on seven applicants.

The prize for best film musical or comedy, the one for best director. But also best screenplay, also curated by Damien Chazelle, best actors Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, and then the prize to the real highlight of the play: the soundtrack. The latter, edited by Justin Hurwitz, has all the beauty of the old days, when love and music were a winning combination in which one emphasized the other, but in a modern context. One example is City of Stars, the song named the best original song. But most of all, Mia and Sebastian, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, perfect interpreters and protagonists of a delicate sentimental plot.

Fresh from Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad, their agreement on the set is now clear, and makes this cinematographic couple one of the most popular today. This time they are artists in search of fortune, that review in each other and discover that they love each other right now, when the troubles due to the ambition of success don’t interfere yet.

La La Land is in effect a post-modern musical that gently moves away from everyday life often too cynical and lacking in charm.

It was released in the US on 16 December 2016, while in Italy will appear in cinemas from 26 January. Receipts so far are around $ 52 million, but the rise has no brakes.

And it is against this background that the world of cinema approaches the night most anticipated of the year: the Oscars, on 28 February. The films nominated for Awards will be unveiled on January 24 and certainly La La Land does not keep aloof. The race to the coveted Academy Award started well. Let’s see.
